Swim School FAQs
What are class details?
● Each class has four students and two teachers.
● Classes are 30 minutes in length.
● Pool is kept at 90 degrees year-round.
● Adults do not get in the pool with students, but we do ask
guardians to remain in the pool area during the entire class.
What ages do you teach?
We offer classes for children ages 2 to 11 years old. Students are required to be potty trained.
Which class is correct for my child?
Beginner class: For students who cannot swim unassisted. Most
students in this class wear back floats and swim the width of the pool.
Students learn front stroke and elementary backstroke in this class,
jumps (with the option of diving) are incorporated at the end of class.
Stroke class: For students who can swim at least one length (32 ft)
of our pool unassisted. Students refine their technique and focus on
mastering their strokes. Students will first master front stroke and backstroke, then move on to breaststroke and butterfly with the option of learning flip turns and open turns. Diving (with the option of race diving) is incorporated at the end of class.
What if I am still unsure what class type best fits my child?
We would be happy to schedule a quick 5-minute swim assessment if
needed, contact us to schedule that at info@swimschool.com.
What is the floatation method?
Our float belts allow students to gain confidence while swimming with
support. Most students start with four back floats, one float is
removed at a time until the student is swimming on their own.
Do you allow trial classes?
We do not allow trial classes, but you are more than welcome to come
by and watch a class to make sure we are the right fit for your child.
Just email us to schedule a visit at info@swimschool.com .
How long do I get my class spot for?
Our classes run year-round and students will automatically keep their
spot each month, as long as needed. Students may move to a
different class spot by moving into a stroke class or requesting a
different time.
How do I cancel my enrollment?
We require a 30-day notice when stopping lessons, which must be
done by email at info@swimschool.com .
Are there make-ups if I miss a class?
We have a no make-up policy. Missed classes (for any reason)
cannot be deducted from tuition and are not guaranteed to be made
up. We do offer an online make-up scheduler for parents who have given us advance notice of their child missing a class. Make-up classes are posted when current students are absent, and availability depends on future absences.
How does tuition work?
Tuition is $37 per student per class and is prepaid monthly for the total classes for the month. Tuition each month can vary, depending on the number of lesson days in the current month. There is a one-time $25 registration fee per family. Tuition is due by the 1st of each month to hold your class spot.
